The Beer Spa at The Norfolk Mead is a unique wellness experience inspired by traditional European bathing rituals.

This week, we sit down and answer our most Frequently Asked Questions about the UK's First Beer Spa. 

What is the concept?

Guests can relax in luxurious wooden hot tubs filled with a nourishing blend of Malt, Hops, and mineral salts while enjoying unlimited pours of locally crafted beer from Woodforde’s Brewery.

What are the benefits of a Beer Spa?

    The Beer Spa experience offers a range of health and wellness benefits, including:
  • Skin Rejuvenation – The antioxidants in Malt and Hops help hydrate and detoxify the skin, leaving it soft and refreshed.
  • Deep Relaxation – The warm bath and natural ingredients ease muscle tension and improve circulation, supporting overall relaxation.
  • Mental Well-being – The soothing aroma of Hops, combined with our signature bath salts, creates a tranquil environment that reduces stress and promotes mental clarity.

Do I actually bathe in beer?

Not exactly! The bath contains a carefully curated blend of Malt, Hops, and mineral-rich salts - ingredients traditionally found in beer - that provide detoxifying and skin-nourishing properties. This is complemented by your own personal beer tap, so you can enjoy drinking beer while you soak!

Can I drink the bathwater?

Whilst it is safe to do so, we wouldn't advise it. Whilst it contains beer ingredients, it is meant solely for soaking and relaxation. However, each session includes unlimited pours of locally brewed beer for you to enjoy. 

How old do you have to be?

The Beer Spa is for adults only. 

How many people can enjoy the Beer Spa at one time?

The Beer Spa has two private rooms, each featuring two baths. It is perfect for couples, friends, or small groups of up to 8 people looking to share a unique and indulgent experience. 

Where is the Beer Spa located?

The Beer Spa is located at The Norfolk Mead Spa, offering a retreat for those looking to unwind in a luxurious and unique setting. 

How long does a Beer Spa session last?

Each session lasts approximately one hour, giving you ample time to soak, unwind and enjoy your beer! 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We provide everything you need for your Beer Spa experience, including towels, robes and flip-flops. Just bring yourself, your swimming attire and be ready to relax!

Is the Beer Spa suitable for everyone?

The Beer Spa is a relaxing experience suitable for most people; however, if you are pregnant, have certain medical conditions, or are unsure, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking.

What if I don't think Beer?

While unlimited beer is included, other options are available upon request so that everyone can enjoy the experience. However, please note that these drinks will be limited.
